Employment Co-ordinator Employer

  • 12 month fixed term contract
  • This role will be primarily based at Blacktown, NSW

Whitelion was established in 1999 as a non-profit community organisation which supports and empowers young people at risk to reach their full potential.

We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Employment Co-ordinator to deliver an exciting new project based at Blacktown.

Your key focus will be placing disadvantaged young jobseekers into employment opportunities within the hospitality sector by utilising your effective reverse marketing and relationship building skills and providing post-placement support.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience in an employment service role
  • Experience in working with young people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work individually with young jobseekers to develop a realistic and achievable individual employment plans.
  • Effective marketing, relationship building skills and industry contacts
  • Ability to reverse market, cold call, build and maintain employer, job seeker, stakeholder and network relationships
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills and ability to engage and build rapport with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong performance orientation with a drive to achieve outcomes and meet targets; including the ability to meet and exceed monthly key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • The ability to work collaboratively and innovatively within a team
  • Ability to establish effective community networks to assist young people in the Grounded Employment Project
  • Strong administrative skills, record keeping skills and computer literacy skills; experience with database management systems
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
  • Must be able travel to other sites when required
  • Hold a current and valid Working with Children’s check and Drivers Licence
  • Willing to undertake a police check

To be successful in this role you will require relevant tertiary qualifications in employment support, training and assessment, youth work, social science or related areas and/or demonstrated relevant employment experience
