Whitelion reflects, celebrates and inspires at our 10 Year Celebration Ball - Nov 14, 2009

The WHITELION 10 YEAR CELEBRATION BALL was held on Saturday, 14th November 2009 at the MELBOURNE TOWN HALL and has proven to be one of our premier events with 490 people in attendance. It was a huge night marked by the celebration of our achievements and history, with 10 years of memories on display, moving footage, touching tributes and special awards. The evening starting to the echoes of a live didgeridoo playing, and then our breath was taken away listening to Marina Prior. Then guests were laughing uncontrollably as the Scared Weird Little Guys hit the stage. Throughout the evening we heard some pre-recorded tributes and a surprise piece for our co-founders Mark Watt and Glenn Manton. The night ended with lots of friends reminiscing and dancing the night away. 12 people/partners where recognised for their significant contributions to Whitelion. Congratulations to award winners: Dept of Human Services Metlink KFC Portland House Diana Batzias Noelle deClifford Rob Moodie George Varlamos  Lola Fisher Peter Francis John Turner Tony Halla Two of our guests even went home owners of a brand new "Suped Up" Mitsubishi Lancer and many more were successful in winning other fantastic unique auction items that were up for grabs. However everyone left the event with great insight into the journey Whitelion has had over the years and an understanding of all aspects of the work Whitelion continues to do.  Special thanks must go to Tony Hallam and the organising committee for their hard work and dedication to making the night an unforgettable experience, firmly implanting our first Ball into Whitelion's history. Congratulations and a huge thankyou to everyone who has contributed to Whitelion throughout it's 10 years and we look forward to sharing the future with you as we continue to encourage, inspire and support young people at risk.
