Bendigo Community Graffiti Day -
Feb 27, 2010
Bendigo mentors and young people met at Nandos to fuel up before their community graffiti day on Saturday 27th February. After filling up on chicken and salads, the crew headed up the road to the St Lukes Forest Street office where they had the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents. Some people chose to work with stencils and got to cutting out, while others preferred to freehand. The canvases were quickly taken up with splashes of colour and designs. At the end of the day there were paint covered hands, fabulous works and a new mentor match to boot.
Community days are an integral component of Whitelion Mentoring Programs, as they offer young people the chance to meet and get to know a range of mentors and other young people. These experiences provide great opportunities for socialising, hanging out with positive role models, and enjoying activities which some may not otherwise have experienced.
A huge thank you goes to Nandos and a dedicated store team for their amazing support in making the day a success for all.
