WHITELINELION FEVER
Whitelion’s 12th Annual AFL Finals Series Luncheon was ‘kicked off’ in grand style at the MCC Dining Room on 6th September with over $25,000 being raised to support youth at risk. Comedian Dave O’Neil, famous for his role on Spicks n Specks, Gordon Street Tonight amongst others, engaged the crowd of over 360 guests before the footy panel took to the stage.
The Luncheon was hosted by media personality David King and featured an esteemed panel including Matthew Lloyd, Luke Ball, Terry Wallace, Alisa Camplin, Andrew Gaze and Whitelion’s own Glenn Manton. The panellists’ lively conversations commented on the chances of the final eight teams, with Collingwood bearing the brunt of the discussion.
Whitelion co-founder and CEO Mark Watt spoke about the ‘fatherless generation’ and launched the Whitelion Young Men’s Support appeal which received an enthusiastic response. We encourage you to donate (click here) and help our young men have the courage to choose a better future.
Finally, guests were entertained by young performers of the Streat Beats partnership pilot program between Whitelion and the School of Hard Knocks. This initiative instils a number of skills through the teaching of African Drumming. It was the group’s first live performance after eight weeks of rehearsals and all involved performed like professionals.
Thanks to Schweppes, Visionstream, Coffey, SEN, bwired, Audio Visual Dynamics, AFL, CUB, MCC, Rendina Real Estate and all the generous companies that donated their goods, time or services.
