WHITELINELION FEVER - the Coach

The 9th Annual Whitelion AFL Finals Luncheon was presented to 350 guests at the MCC Dining Room on Thursday 10th September.

Hosted by Craig Hutchison, Whitelion introduced a new format for 2009, known as ‘Whiteline Lion Fever’ as our expert panel of Garry Lyon, Angela Pippos, Wayne Schwass, Liam Pickering, Sarah Jones and Grant Thomas took a look behind the match-up board and examined what it’s like being a COACH in the AFL today.

The day started with a key-note presentation from Stan Alves a former North Melbourne Premiership Player and the last coach to take St Kilda to an AFL Grand Final. Stan, a wonderful Whitelion supporter, drew the analogy between coaching and mentoring young people.

Guest were also entertained by Glenn ‘Super Coach’ Manton & Jim ‘Jayco’ Lawson - direct from their award winning Melbourne Comedy Festival Show – the Spray – as they shared their own unique insights into being an AFL coach.
