RECENT EVENTS:
BAIL OUT - BOUND FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA
The inaugural Adelaide Bail Out was held on Thursday 16th August, with over 90 inmates being locked up at the Adelaide Goal.
We are pleased to announce that the National Bail Out campaign is on track to set a phenomenal fundraising tally, a record for Whitelion with over $500,000 raised so far! But we haven't closed the fundraising yet, so you still have time to donation as you help us to raise much needed funds to support youth at risk… simply visit www.whitelionbailout.org.au
All reports from inmates regarding their experience have been exceptionally favourable (despite the rain trying to dampen our spirits), resulting in a greater understanding of what it is like to step into the shoes of a young person that has been disconnected from our community.
Together, we are helping to support young people at risk in the Australian community.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those that made the night possible - our wonderful inmates, supporters, volunteers, sponsors, and staff! Thank you very much for your contribution and involvement in this year's Adelaide Bail Out Event and we look forward to continuing to work together in the future.
Whitelion extends a huge Thank You to all our sponsors who assisted us to make the night such a success.
Thank you to Schweppes Whitelion's major sponsor along with Adelaide Bail Out Sponsors; Adelaide Gaol as venue partner, Coopers as beer sponsor, d"Arenberg as wine sponsor, along with Maggie Beer and The Farm Barossa Function Centre as catering sponsors.
Whitelion would also like to acknowledge and thank the teams at SAFM and Triple M for all their wonderful help in promoting the Whitelion Bail Out on radio throughout Adelaide on Mix, Cruise and 5AA!
BUSINESS BREAKFAST: DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO GROW?
In late November, over 200 guests attended the Business Leaders' Breakfast at The Westpac Function Centre at AAMI Stadium in South Australia.
Hosted by, Whitelion's Co-Founder Glenn Manton, the event featured an informative segment from Mark Coughlin, Chair of the Whitelion SA Advisory Group, which outlined ways in which Whitelion could further develop partnership opportunities to strengthen our work in supporting young people.
An esteemed panel of experts discussed the theme of the Breakfast - 'The Courage to Grow'. The panel, which consisted of, Brenton Andersen (ATO Employee), Charlie Chau (Whitelion Role Model), Roger Antochi (TOLL National Second Step Program Coordinator) and Steven Trigg (Adelaide Crows CEO), shared highlights of their individual journeys and the courage that was required along the way.
In closing, Mark Watt shared anecdotes and information about the award winning Bail Out, now bound for South Australia in 2012. Bail Out SA is planned for May 18 at the Adelaide Gaol.
More information will be available soon.
