Victoria Employment Programs
The Whitelion Employment Program offers a holistic employment placement and support service for highly marginalised young people. The young people referred to the program are provided with:
- Extensive pre-employment training
- Mentoring to develop essential employment skills
- Ongoing placement and post placement support
The Whitelion Employment Program methodology ensures that young people are supported every step of the way to access employment and that ongoing support is available to employer and employee.
Who does Whitelion offer employment support to?
Young people between the ages of 15-24 who may be:
- Struggling to secure employment.
- Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Youth justice or Corrections clients
- Young people in Out-of-Home Care
- Young people disengaged from training and employment
- Young people experiencing disadvantage.
Whitelion is proudly providing the following programs:
Jobs Victoria Employment Network (JVEN)
The Jobs Victoria Employment Network (JVEN) is the Victorian Government's major activity to help disadvantaged Victorian jobseekers gain employment.
The Whitelion employment program staff work closely with employers to identify job opportunities and prepare job seekers for those roles.
Jobs Land & Economy Program (JLEP)
Whitelion has been delivering an employment program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island young people in both Metropolitan Melbourne and Geelong.
This program provides tailored assistance to young people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and are aged 15-24.
Justice Employment Program:
This program is centred on young people whose behaviours have resulted in involvement in the Justice system or at risk of involvement. This program provides opportunity for positive community connectedness.
Barwon Vocational Pathways Program Geelong
The Whitelion Barwon Vocational Pathways Program aims to provide access and opportunity to disadvantaged young people in the Barwon region to engage in employment, training and education opportunities utilising our extensive business and community partnerships.
