Youth Services - SA
Outreach Case Management Services (young people aged 12-25)
We recently received some funding to employ a Youth Outreach Worker in the Northern suburbs for 3 years. The position permits the Youth Outreach Worker to work intensively with no more than 30 young Indigenous people per year allowing for intensive support and wrap around servicing.
The Youth Outreach Worker appointed in early March 2014 was Sophie Rose. Sophie comes to Whitelion with a Social Work qualification, but more importantly extensive experience working with young Indigenous clients and their families in both Victoria and South Australia.
The position is unique as it allows Sophie to work with young Indigenous people between the ages of 12-25 within a case management model providing 1:1 support when a young person is experiencing difficulties with their personal wellbeing, education, training and/or employment. Sophie is able to work with any Indigenous young person within the Northern Adelaide area, and is not restricted to those only undertaking Whitelion programs .
If you have a young Indigenous client in need of extra support and would like more information on how to refer your young person to the program, or you would like more information on Sophie’s role and the assistance she can offer as the Whitelion Northern Youth Outreach worker please don't hesitate to contact her.
