2020 Bail Out Postponed

Whitelion acknowledges the immense stress and pressure that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on individuals and organisations alike. While we all respond to crisis and uncertainty differently, there is no denying we are experiencing extraordinary times.

 

Our first and ongoing priority is the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, young people and the community. Our response will be dynamic as the situation evolves day by day and often by the hour. Three key principles underpin how we will work through this pandemic:

  • Calm, care and kindness to self and each other
  • Consistent, clear and transparent communication
  • Adherence to government and health authority advice and guidelines

With the recent announcement of the suspension of non-essential gatherings, we have been forced to rethink Whitelion’s current events program for 2020.

 

Bail Out is Whitelion’s annual major fundraising and awareness raising event. With a series of immersive events scheduled to take place from May- June including Sydney Unlimited Creative/ Media Industry 22 May; Melbourne 29 May; Sydney 4 June; Sydney, Perth 18 June; and SA dates were still in planning. We can now officially advise that all Bail Out events will be postponed until 2021.

 

In the Whitelion spirit of being an agile and innovative organisation, we are determined to stay focused on young people at risk and are currently working on an upcoming digital campaign to be launched in the coming months.

 

In the meantime, our work continues supporting highly vulnerable, high risk young people within our community at this very challenging time. We encourage anyone wishing to support our young people to please do so via a donation here.
