Outreach Worker

About us

Whitelion was established in 1999 as a non-profit community organisation that supports and empowers young people at risk to reach their full potential.

Our Vision

A world where no young person is left behind. Where all young people have the right to equitable opportunities to reach their potential.

Whitelion Outreach

Whitelion Youth Agency provides assertive mobile outreach service to young people aged between 12-25 who are street frequenting, homeless and/or engaging in risk-taking behaviour. The service includes the Chatterbox Bus which attends various locations around Melbourne CBD and surrounding areas.

Purpose of Outreach Worker (0.6EFT)

The Outreach Worker will work alongside a team of Outreach Workers and a community nurse to address issues associated with homelessness, and ensure young people can access mental health, sexual and reproductive health services, respond to issues associated with drug and alcohol misuse, family violence, and have access to employment and other day programs.

The program is committed to offering information and education at the point of contact and actively works with young people to link them into generalist and specialist services support services. As such, it is anticipated that service delivery will support young people towards pathways to works and connection to community.

Whitelion's Chatterbox Bus will be used for targeted outreach into those areas of the CBD where young people most need support.
