Student Placements

Whitelion currently offers student placements in all operating states. 

Student placements in 

Whitelion recognises the importance of practical learning placements for students related to their chosen field. Whitelion offers work placement opportunities to university and TAFE students across a range of departments and regions. We accept students who are studying in the areas of:

  • Youth Work
  • Community Services
  • Community Development
  • Social work
  • Welfare
  • Criminology
  • Mental Health
  • Alcohol and Other Drugs

Whitelion conducts rigorous screening for all staff, volunteers and students

Student placement applications are assessed against the following criteria:

  • Program and supervisor availability
  • Location availability
  • Successful interview and referee check
  • Successful clearance of Working With Children Check and CrimCheck
  • Alignment of student goals to Whitelion’s objectives

Student Placement Support

Successful placements at Whitelion will be provided with a range of support and learning opportunities including:

  • Comprehensive induction session
  • Student placement learning agreement and goal setting
  • Introduction to key policies, procedures and organisational context
  • Students are aware of all policies and procedures relevant to their placement
  • An organisation, safety and programs orientation
  • Suitable resources and equipment/office space for placement
  • Ongoing monitoring throughout placement
  • Regular supervision, development/learning opportunities and meeting participation
  • Students on placement are encouraged and supported to be part of the team

  2. Download and complete the Student Placement Application Form
