Youth Programs - Victoria

Whitelion Youth Programs (Victoria) engages young people ages 15-25 across the metropolitan Melbourne regions. The majority of the young people have prior or current involvement with the Youth Justice or Out of Home Care systems or are risk of involvement.

Youth Programs incorporates a combination of individualised case management support and program engagement to empower young people to make positive decisions about their lives. The aim of Youth Programs is to offer young people opportunities for positive community and peer to peer engagement, encouraging learning in a creative and hands on manner whilst promoting resilience and confidence building.

Case Management

A strengths based model is used to empower young people to address life issues including healthy relationships, self-esteem and empowerment; build emotional resilience and wellbeing; and facilitate full inclusion in mainstream life by supporting young people to access:

  1. Education, training and employment;
  2. Independent living skills
  3. Recreational and social connection opportunities
  4. Support for mental  health and well being
  5. Support includes short and long term case management

Custodial Engagement Program

The custodial engagement program is facilitated within the Youth Justice Precinct. It provides young women the opportunity to participate in a range of activities providing the opportunity to release stress, be active and creative, build positive relationships and develop self-esteem.

National Camp

Each year Whitelion brings together young people, mentors, volunteers and staff from across Australia. National Camp is a unique opportunity for participants to be challenged, build confidence and explore individual strengths and team-work within a fun and supportive environment.
