BREAKING THE CYCLE
Whitelion supports young people to build better lives for themselves and helps make our community a more inclusive and safer place.
Each year thousands of young people are disconnected from our community due to abuse and neglect, drug addiction and poverty. These young people have often had horrific life experiences with few positive role models and are caught in a 'cycle of discouragement' that is very hard to break. Many of these young people end up in Out-of-Home Care and in some cases in the Youth Justice System.

CEO MESSAGE
After the holiday break, we are back in the swing of things at Whitelion – and what an exciting year 2010 is shaping up to be! We are proud to welcome new faces to Team Leader and Senior Management roles. Already Whitelion is benefiting from their vigour and the fresh approach they have brought to the business of helping young people at risk. I look forward to working with the team to ensure Whitelion is a well resourced organisation that can maintain the long term, intensive approach we take to working with young people.
The 2008/09 year gave us a lot to be proud of at Whitelion: Record numbers of mentoring matches and young people placed in employment, over 4000 young people in schools from disadvantaged areas visited by role models, and expansion into Hobart and the launch of Whitelion South Australia.
The demand for Whitelion services is strong, and we hope to do even more in 2010.
Heres to a great year.
