The RISE program is supporting students to remain engaged in education

South Western Sydney plays host to our RISE program. RISE stands for Re-engagement Into Sustainable Education. It is a short-term solution for young people who have been suspended to reduce the risk for chronic disengagement. When a young person is suspended it greatly increases the likelihood that they will become further disengaged and can lead to long-term absence from education. The RISE program works to offer an alternative where the goal is to maintain educational momentum during their period of suspension. Throughout the program the young people involved are also involved in case management to address any additional behaviour or risk factors. This allows us to provide a more holistic service to set the young people involved up for success.

The ultimate outcome for the program is to re-integrate the young people into mainstream education or connect them to a new vocational pathway. RISE is a vital program to address the risk factors involved with suspensions. The program operates out of the Claymore Opportunity Hub to service the Campbelltown Local Government Area.
