AFL luncheon and Leading the Pride high tea

While not unexpected during the pandemic, we regret to confirm that our annual AFL final series luncheon will be not be held this year.  This year would have been our 20th luncheon!!  It’s the first time in 20 years that Whitelion and our 300-400 supporters will not gather in September at the iconic MCC Members’ dining room overlooking the MCG.   It’s an afternoon of great fun, lots of footy talk, a lively auction and importantly, an opportunity to hear young people’s stories firsthand.  We will miss it.

Our newer event: Leading the Pride high tea has also been cancelled for October.  It would’ve been our third year of hosting this more intimate high tea focused on young women’s empowerment and gender equity in employment.  We will miss the panel discussion and hospitality from our incredible partners at The Langham.

2021

Three Peaks Challenge (March) and Bail Out (May/June)

We have commenced planning for 2021 events and will share more details with you in the coming weeks.  Our planning is based on the key principle of retaining the essence and magic of each event, as they are unique to Whitelion and our engagement with our participants and supporters.  For Three Peaks that means any replacement would still take the form of a hiking challenge, and for Bail Out it will mean it would still be an immersive experience.  Of course all our planning is dependent on the government’s COVID-19 protocols.  We are working closely with lead guides and volunteers to plan as much in advance as we can with various scenarios built in. Stay tuned, we look forward to sharing our plans with you in the coming weeks.
